Our founder, Jesse Lipson, previously built ShareFile (acquired by Citrix in 2011), a secure file sharing system that has over 50,000 small business customers around the world. ShareFile helped solve the problem of securely transferring files between small businesses and their clients and partners, but along the way Jesse noticed something about relationship-based small businesses: They all struggled to keep in touch with their network in a personal and authentic way—and it was hurting business.
Jesse left Citrix, teamed up with some early team members from ShareFile, and founded Levitate on a mission to help businesses grow through the power of keeping in touch.
Today we have over 3,000 small business customers and 150 employees at our headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, and we’re backed by some great investors: Tippet Partners, Peter Gassner (co-founder and CEO of Veeva Systems), and Bull City Venture Partners.
